19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his first trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after spring of that year.
Victory also means he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour title, took control to force a third set.
The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
